Material Grade/Alloy Hardness (HRC) Tensile Strength (ksi) Yield Strength (ksi) Machinability Density (lb/in³) Notes

📝 Material Properties Guide

Hardness: Rockwell C scale. Higher numbers indicate harder materials that are more difficult to machine.

Machinability Rating: Relative ease of machining compared to AISI 1212 steel (100% baseline).

Tensile Strength: Maximum stress material can withstand before breaking.

Yield Strength: Stress at which material begins permanent deformation.

Tool Selection: Harder materials require carbide or coated tools. Softer materials can use HSS.
